Leslie E. Coholan, of Rochester, NH, formerly of Melrose, died at his home on Jan. 20, 2015 at the age of 82. Leslie was born & raised in Malden and a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1951. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After returning from the Army, Leslie resided in Melrose for most of his life and the past 12 years in Rochester, NH. He worked as a Truck Driver for Mobile Oil Corp. for many years before his retirement at the age of 75. Leslie was a very hard worker and enjoyed sports, nascar racing and puttering around his home. Leslie was the former husband of Paula (Hatzopoulos) Coholan of Rochester, NH. Loving father of Donna Ryan & her husband David of Burlington, Cathy Coholan of S. Dennis, Richard Coholan & his partner Antonia Teixeira of W. Yarmouth, Gary Coholan of S. Boston and Francis Coholan & his wife Kathy of Melrose. Cherished grandfather of Bonnie, Douglas, Diana, Chibbon, Emily, Barrett, Ellen and Victoria. Caring great grandfather of Brayden & Michaela. Brother of Donald Coholan & his wife Terry of NC. Stepfather of Jason Hatzopoulos. Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Jan. 23rd from 5-7PM. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 24th at 8AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM.
