Lillian M. (Coyne) Mahoney, of Woburn, formerly of Melrose, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the New Horizon Assisted Living Center in Woburn. She was 100 years old. Born on December 28, 1909 in Boston, a daughter to the late Thomas & Margaret (Gallery) Coyne, she was raised in East Cambridge and a 1927 graduate of Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School. Lillian worked as a clerk with John Hancock Insurance of Boston for many years. She enjoyed sewing, baking, dancing; was a Melrose resident from 1940 until 2002 and was a member of the Incarnation Church of Melrose. Mrs. Mahoney was the devoted wife of the late John L. Mahoney, with whom they shared 62 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of John L. Mahoney & his wife Rosemary of Whitehouse Station, NJ, Priscilla J. Granfield & her husband Patrick of Melrose, William C. Mahoney & his wife Denyce of Medford & Charlotte M. Mahoney & her husband Peter Albert of Washington D.C. Cherished grandmother of 12 & great grandmother of 15. Caring sister of the late Frances Smith. Also survived by a special niece Margaret McManus of Woburn. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose on Thursday, November 4th at 10AM. Family & friends respectfully invited to meet at the church at 9:30AM.
