Lillian F. (Lancaster) Ryan, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Wakefield on July 10th at the age of 81. Lillian was born & raised in Malden and attended Malden High School. She lived most of her life in Malden, was a member of St. Pauls Church and lived the past 17 years in Melrose. Lillian worked as a Charge Attendant Nurse at the Metropolitan State Hospital in Waltham for 25 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph E. Ryan and Frederick R. Neal. Loving mother of James F. Neal Sr. & his wife Wendy of Chester, NH and Carol Pottle of Everett. Cherished grandmother of James F. Neal Jr., Jeffrey Neal, Jennifer Scoledge, Ryan Neal, Robert Pottle, Diana Calvetti and the late Cheri Pottle. Caring great grandmother of Devyn, Dilyn, Jaalen and Liam. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday July 14th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8PM.
