Lillian R. (ONeill) Sheehan, died peacefully at home in her sleep, in Leesburg, Florida on July 19th, she was 85. Mrs. Sheehan was born in South Boston, raised in South Boston and Medford and graduated from Medford High School. She lived in Melrose for 23 years and Leesburg, FL for the past 25 years. Lillian was a homemaker, enjoyed playing bridge & other card games, was a former member of the Red Hot Squares Dancing Club in Burlington and was one of the founding members of Incarnation Church in Melrose. While living in Florida, Mrs. Sheehan was a member of St. Pauls Church and was a volunteer teacher at St. Pauls Grammar School in Leesburg, FL. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Sheehan. Mother of Michael J. Sheehan & his wife Evelyn of Medford, James P. Sheehan of Ireland, Elaine M. Patton & her husband Stephen of Alaska, Robert M. Sheehan Jr. & his wife Cecelia of Texas, Paul J. Sheehan & his wife Kathleen of Arlington and Peter D. Sheehan & his wife Victoria of Franklin. Sister of Mary McNamara of Melrose, Paul Hargreaves of FL and the late George & Catherine ONeill. Also survived by 13 loving grandchildren. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Sat. Aug. 7th at 9:30AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held Saturday morning prior to the funeral from 8:30-9:30AM.
