Obituary

Linda J. (MacDougall) DeHart, of Melrose, died peacefully on January 20, 2019 at the age of 69. Linda was a resident of Stoneham for over 20 years and lived in Melrose for the past 15 years. She was born on March 25, 1949 to Bernard and Flora (Sheppard) MacDougall. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1967. Linda continued her education after high school at St. Elizabeth Hospital School. Linda worked as a Registered Nurse at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for over 25 years. She enjoyed traveling to Bow Lake in New Hampshire with her family for many years; and was also an avid reader and always enjoyed reading a nice book on the dock at the lake. Linda cherished her time with her grandchildren above all else. Linda was the loving mother of Shawn DeHart & his wife Michele of Wilmington. Caring sister of Paul MacDougal & his wife Peg of TN. Proud grandmother of Sophia, Tristan & Jackson DeHart. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 5:00-7:00PM. Funeral procession from the Gately Funeral Home on Friday morning at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10:00AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262Danny Thomas Place, Memphis ,TN 38105.
