Linda Anne Sena, of Los Angeles, formerly of Melrose, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2016 at the age of 49. Linda was born in Melrose on October 29, 1966 to Frederick and Rose (Bruzzese) Sena of Melrose. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School. Linda was a gifted artist ever since she was a young girl. She went on to graduate from the Mass College of Art in Boston, and later worked as an animator for Olive Jar Studios in Brookline. Linda decided to further her education and was accepted into the prestigious American Film Institute in Los Angeles, California where she earned a Master's Degree in 2001. Linda remained in Los Angeles to pursue her career in the film industry as a Production Designer and Art Director. She was an extremely talented artist and filmmaker; she applied her vast knowledge in the field and resourcefulness to assist her colleagues with any problems they faced. Linda was a member of the Art Directors Guild and her recent films include, 'Alex of Venice', 'The Spectacular Now', 'Nobody Walks', 'Smashed' and 'What do we have in our Pockets'. Other films include 'Wrist Cutters' and 'Captain Abu Raed'. She loved living in Los Angeles, particularly the Echo Park neighborhood, where she developed a dedicated community of friends. When she was not working, Linda had a beautiful garden that she maintained and enjoyed hiking in Griffith Park and bike rides along the L.A. River. She was a passionate woman who cared deeply for her family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly. She was the beloved daughter of Frederick L. and Rose A. (Bruzzese) Sena of Melrose. Loving sister of Dr. Laureen M. Sena of Jamaica Plain, Frederick J. Sena & his wife Patricia of Groveland, and Stephen F. Sena & his wife Rula of Washington D.C. Caring aunt of Michael Magrath & his wife Megan, and Omar Giovanni Sena. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 from 4-8PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Family & friends will gather at Gately Funeral Home at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary's Church, Melrose. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be held at a later date.
