Lindsay (Sampson) Doran passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Massachusetts General Hospital, on January 19, 2009. She was 32 years of age. Lindsay was born in Malden, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1995 and then from Flagler College in Florida in 1999. Lindsay worked in advertising for the Florida Times Union and then in sales for Fitzgerald Tile in Woburn for 2 years. Her son Colby was the love of her life. Lindsay loved family gatherings, people, life and never let her illness get in the way of her having fun. She loved the times spent on Lake Ossipee in Freedom, NH, water skiing, boating, camping, going to the beach and hanging out with family & friends. Lindsay loved her trips to Aruba, her trip to Thailand and was keeping a journal of an experience with the cancer in hopes of writing a book in the future. She was the loving mother of Colby K. Doran. Beloved daughter of Leonard & Carol (Colbert) Sampson of Melrose. Cherished sister of Gregory S. Sampson & his wife Page of Wakefield and Courtney E. Sampson of Melrose. Devoted aunt of Madeline E. Sampson. Also survived by 2 godchildren, several aunts, uncles & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday, Jan. 23rd at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thurs 4-8PM. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham. Memorial contributions may be made in Lindsay's name to Mass.
