Lois J. (Croley) Lockwood, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2021 at the age of 91. Lois was born in Stoneham, raised in Malden, and was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1947. After high school, Lois went on to earn a degree from Boston University, graduating in 1949. Lois was a Clinical Department Coordinator and Medical Secretary in OBGYN at Tufts Medical Center from 1949-1987. She then worked for Dr. Nancy LaPlant from 1987-1990, and later went on to work as an Administrative Assistant at the MIT Medical Department until she retired in 1991. Lois was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church in Malden and was a member of the Friends of the Middlesex Fells. Lois was a devoted member of the reunion committee for the Malden High School class of 1947. She also enjoyed traveling and going to the Lyrics Theatre where she had season tickets. She was the beloved wife of the late Raleigh B. "Peter" Lockwood for 36 years. Loving step-mother of Lois R. DiGirolamo & her late husband Michael of East Boston and the late Lawrence S. Lockwood. Cherished grandmother of Barbara and Gina DiGirolamo, and Melissa Lockwood. Great grandmother of Aaliyah, Aliana, and Austin. Loving cousin of Kenneth Anderson, Brian Anderson, Michael Anderson, Nancy Burke, the late Wayne Anderson, Madeleine Owens, Roderick Gillis, and Glenn Gillis. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose. Burial to follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Merrimac, MA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Lois' name to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 6060, or to a charity of your choice.
