Loretta E. (Mack) Ward died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday Feb. 24th at the age of 63. Loretta was born in Medford, raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School in 1957 and Melrose-Wakefield Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She graduated from Barnes Hospital Anesthesia School in St. Louis in 1965 and worked there for 10 years. She moved to Burlington MA and worked as a night supervisor on the 11-7 shift at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for over 25 years. Loretta then worked at the Normandy House in Melrose for 9 years as the 11-7 supervisor and the past year as the weekend supervisor. She has lived in Burlington the past 33 years and was a member of the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Alumnae Association. Loretta was the wife of the late John J. Ward. Mother of Kathleen M. Ward of Burlington. Sister of Nancy J. Pierce of Attleboro. Also survived by several nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Thurs. Feb. 27th at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 4-8PM. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
