Lorna Sarni 85, entered into rest May 8, surrounded by love. Born in a log cabin in Menan, Idaho, she met her husband of 66 years Ralph, at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside California, who left two weeks later to serve the Marine Corps in the Pacific during WWII. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Vivian; sisters Donna, Edna, Zelda and brothers Rand and Lyle Lawson. She is survived by her brother Gary Lawson and wife Kathy of Carlsbad, California. Also survived by her children: Barbara and her late husband Joe Mitchell, Dennis and Terry Sarni of California, Rick and Sue Sarni of the Netherlands, Bob Sarni of Melrose, Greg Sarni and Sharon Walsh of Melrose and Groton, and Gail Sarni and Rich Batt of Cambridge. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed her life in nature and music. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 12th at 9:15AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose on Wednesday, May 12th at 10:30AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 5-7PM.
