Lorraine O. (O'Neil) Crovo passed away at her home in Melrose surrounded by her family on Thursday, October 29, 2009. She was 79 years of age. Lorraine was born in Cambridge on April 20, 1930 to the late John J. & Gertrude (Hannaford) O'Neil. Mrs. Crovo was raised in Cambridge, graduated from high school in Cambridge and from Burdett Business School in Boston. Lorraine lived in Stoneham for 6 years and Melrose for the past 47 years. Mrs. Crovo was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and vacations on Cape Cod. She was a member of the Theta group in Melrose, a longtime member of Incarnation Church in Melrose and taught CCD at church. Lorraine was the beloved wife of 56 years to Ralph M. Crovo. Loving mother of Kevin Crovo & his wife Leslie of Melrose, Paul Crovo & his wife Caron of Melrose, Joyce Kerrigan & her husband Eugene of Boston, Stephen Crovo & his wife Lisa of Melrose, Nancy Brodeur & her husband Norman of Bedford, NH, Karen Cann & her husband Brian of Stoneham and Brian Crovo & his wife Kristen of Melrose. Sister of John J. O'Neil & his wife Barbara of Bourne. Devoted grandmother of Allison, Marc, Gregory, Jennifer, Caitlin, Christopher, Brendon, Rachel, Michael, Stephanie, Victoria, Lauren, Sean, Caroline, Andrew, Brandon, Patrick, Connor, Liam, Emily & Paige. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday Nov.3rd at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Lorraine's honor at The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4:00 to 8:00PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
