Obituary

Louis J. Infurna passed away at the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Melrose on Monday, March 29, 2010. He was 88 years of age. Louis was born in Boston on July 13, 1921 to the late Cosimo & Rosina (Sanagate) Infurna. Mr. Infurna was raised in the North End of Boston, moved to Everett at the age of 15 and graduated from Everett High School. He was a Disabled American Veteran, serving in the US Army during WWII and was a survivor of the Normandy Invasion. After the war, Louis built his own home in Melrose and has been a resident for the past 60 years. Mr. Infurna worked for the US Post Office in South Boston for 33 years; as a mechanic and then as Chief of Supply, retiring in 1988. Louis loved working around the house, on cars and in his vegetable garden. He is the loving husband of Anna I. (Carrabis) Infurna. Devoted father of Rosalind D'Amico & her husband Salvatore and Cosmo L. Infurna & his wife Gail all of Melrose. Grandfather of Michael & Mark Infurna. Brother of Phillip Infurna of Lynnfield, Joseph Infurna of AZ and the late Marie Pardo & Lucy Imprescia. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A Funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thurs. April 1st at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Wed. 6:00-8:00PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made to the Epoch Senior Healthcare Center, in care of Activities Fund, 15 Green St. Melrose, 02176.
