Obituary

Louis Paul Miele, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died at the Chelsea Soldier's Home in Chelsea on July 29th at the age of 89. Louis was born in Italy and moved to America at the age of 7. He resided in Cambridge for several years, Malden for over 50 years and the past few years in Melrose. Louis served as a Staff Sargent in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Louis was a member of the Local #22 laborer's Union for 52 years, the Italian American Club in Malden and the Malden Moose Lodge. He worked as a Foreman for Perini Construction in Framingham for 13 years, where he worked on bridge construction throughout New England. He enjoyed gardening & woodworking and lived his life with love, honor & appreciation for his God, Family, Friends and Country. He was the beloved husband for 61 years of the late Josephine L. (Rigano) Miele. Loving father of Terriann M. Hickey, Frances L. Marinelli & her husband John, all of Melrose, Louis P. Miele Jr. & his wife Elizabeth of Weymouth and Joanne M. King & her husband Paul of Melrose. Caring brother of Rose Dattero of Wilmington, Florence Barry of Somerville, Salvatore Miele of OK, Vincent Miele of PA and the late Tobio Miele & John "Sparkie" Miele. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Saturday August 1st at 8AM. Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
