Obituary

Louis S. Piques passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on January 11th at the age of 70. He was born and raised in Portugal, came to Cambridge MA at the age of 15 and graduated from Cambridge Ringe & Latin High School. Mr. Piques lived in Cambridge for several years and Melrose the past 39 years. Louis owned and operated L.P. Brazing Company of Wilmington for the past 20 years and had previously worked as a supervisor for Eastern Microwave of Winchester for 10 years. He was the husband of Antanina Ann (Jankauskas) Piques. Father of Paul L. Piques & his wife Kathryn of GA, Anita D. Sacco & her husband Arnie of Stoneham, Diana L. Foley & her husband Tom of Melrose and the late Irene L. Piques. Brother of Gabriella Faria of Woburn, Tina Hughes of NY, Laura Sommier of N.Andover and Eva Kozen of ME. Grandfather of Victoria DiPerri & her husband Chuck of Billerica, Jonathan Piques of VA, Marianne Foley & Michelle Foley both of Melrose, Anthony Sacco of Stoneham and Lauren Piques of GA. Great grandfather of Maxwell, Mason & Mia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. Jan. 15th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 5-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Research, 1309 Beacon St. Boston 02446. US Air Force Korean War Veteran.
