Louise M. (Connelly) Martin passed away at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. She was 82 years of age. Louise was born in Somerville on January 8, 1928 to the late Louis & Margaret (Flanagan) Connelly. She was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and has lived in Melrose for over 50 years. Louise has been a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Greenwood where she taught CCD for several years, she was an advocate for Pro Life and was involved in fundraising for the Missionary Society of St. James the Apostle. Mrs. Martin had a great sense of humor, loved animals, was an avid read, enjoyed crossword puzzles and family vacations to Cape Cod. Louise beloved wife of the late John P. Martin. Devoted mother of Peggy Trainor & her late husband Paul of Melrose, Joseph I. Martin & his wife Rosamond of Beverly and John P. Martin Jr. & his wife Paula of Revere. Cherished grandmother of Meredith L. Hession & her husband Brian of Tewksbury, Paul F. Trainor III of ME, SGT John Martin Trainor USMC of NC, Brian J. Trainor of Wakefield, Joseph Patrick, Anne Louise & Francis William Martin all of Beverly. Great grandmother of Casey Trainor. Sister of the late Louis & Maureen Connelly, William & Myrt Connelly, Mary & Ed Hoffman and Betty Bouvier. Also survived by 2 brothers-in-law; Rev. Joseph I. Martin of Boston & Cliff Bouvier of Ipswich and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sat. October 9th at 10AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 11AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4:00-8:00PM. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
