Lucy M. (Caswell) Farr passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, on February 13, 2007; she was 66 years of age. Lucy was the daughter of the late Edward & Della (Cirocco) Caswell. She was born in Malden on April 23, 1940, was raised in Malden and attended Malden Schools. Mrs. Farr moved to Melrose in 1958, raised her family in Melrose, she lived in Ft. Myers, Florida for 11 years and moved back to Melrose 2 years ago. Lucy worked as a waitress at the Red Coach Grill for 10 years, where many people would take the extra time and wait for her to be their waitress & then at the Hilltop Restaurant for 12 years. While living in Florida, Lucy realized a lifelong dream of owning her own business. She created the Rainbow Ice Cream Store in North Ft. Myers and ran it for 5 years. Lucy was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a proud grandmother & great grandmother. She is survived by her husband George A. Farr Sr. Mother of Kimberly Baldi of Malden, Robert J. Farr & his wife Kathleen, George A. Farr Jr. & his wife Carol all of Melrose. Grandmother of Bobby & Harmonie Baldi, Bobby, Mike & Eric Farr and Josh & Jessica Farr. Great grandmother of Bobby, Zack & Gabe. Sister of Ed Caswell & his wife Patty of Stoneham and Ruthanne Pitts & her husband Paul of NH. Close cousin of Charles Freeman of Malden. Dear friend of Elaine Philbrick & her husband Bruce of NH and Stan Robinson of AZ. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Sunday February 18th at 1:00PM. Family & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Saturday, Feb. 17th from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Lucys name to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
