Madeline A. (Flanagan) DeRocco, of Peabody, formerly of Melrose, died at the Rosewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Peabody on Nov. 6, 2017 at the age of 81. Madeline was born & raised in East Boston and a graduate of St. Rose High School. She was a homemaker & resided in Melrose for 43 years and the past 12 years in Peabody. Madeline loved creating a warm home for her family with baking & cooking. She made friends very easily and enjoyed spending family time in Vermont & Cape Cod. Madeline's family was the most important part of her life. She was the beloved wife of the late Patrick A. DeRocco for many years. Loving mother of Karen A. DeRocco & her loving companion Cedric of Manchester, NH, Cheryl A. Thompson & her husband Kenneth of Peabody, Nancy DeRocco of Peabody, Patrick A. DeRocco, Jr. of Wakefield & Michael DeRocco & his wife Aida of Danvers. Cherished grandmother of Laura Thompson, Christine Morrissey, Kenneth, Patrick & Evan Thompson, Courtney Ouellette, Ismael, Joshua & Ashley DeRocco. Proud great grandmother of Maya & Amelia. Caring sister of Arlene Avola & Paul Flanagan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St., Melrose on Saturday, Nov. 11th at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
