Mafalda "Peggy"(DeSimeone) Rizzuto, of Malden, died at the Epoch Senior Center in Melrose on July 4, 2008 at the age of 99. Peggy was born in Avellino, Italy and came to America at the age of 12. She lived in the North End of Boston for several years before moving to East Boston where she resided for 16 years. Peggy lived most of her life in Malden and worked as an Inspector for the Schraffes Chocolate Company in Charlestown, Transitron in Melrose and Raytheon for many years. She loved to sing & dance and would always pray the Rosary 4 times a day. Peggy was the former wife of the late Joseph J. Rizzuto. Loving Mother of Rocco J. Rizzuto & his wife Kathy of Center Ossipee, NH, Marie R. Frizzi & her late husband Connie of Melrose, Rosalie G. Colarusso of Saugus and the late James J. Rizzuto. Cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Caring sister of six deceased siblings. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday July 8th at 7:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church 770 Salem St., Malden at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited.
