Maizie J. (Anthony) Stanford died at home Nov. 22nd at the age of 84. She was born and raised in Newfoundland. Maizie was a former school teacher in Newfoundland and was very active in the Newfoundland Salvation Army. She lived in Somerville for 45 years and the past 7 years in Melrose. She worked as a quality control specialist at the Sweetheart Plastic Manufacturing Corporation and she was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Melrose.Maizie was the wife of the late Edrick Wilson Stanford. Mother of Frank Stanford of Melrose and the late Wycliffe Stanford. Mother-in-law of Linda Stanford of Melrose, Vittoria Stanford of Walpole and the late Janice Stanford. Sister of Pearl Cuff & Beatrix Peddle both of Newfoundland and the late Ella Anthony, Frank Anthony & Alec Anthony. Grandmother of Lori Paquin & her husband Scott of Braintree, Sharon McKenna & her husband Chad of S. Attleboro, Tara & Keir Stanford both of Melrose. Great grandmother of Chad, Corey, Kara, Christopher & Cameron. A funeral service will be held at the 1st Baptist Church 561 Main St. Melrose on Tues. Nov. 26th at 12 Noon.
