IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margaret E. (Bushey)
Ambrogne
August 31, 1938 – September 3, 2025
Margaret E. (Bushey) Ambrogne, of Melrose, passed away on September 3, 2025, at 87 years of age. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in East Boston and proud graduate of Fitton Central High School.
She proceeds in death, her husband of 29yrs Jerome A. Ambrogne, her son Jerome A. Ambrogne Jr, and later in life her companion Anthony Scalisi.
In early years she was actively involved in chaperoning the 27th Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps. Margaret also devoted the majority of her life as a Eucharistic minister for Saint Mary's Church in Melrose.
As a lifelong resident of Melrose she enjoyed her work at Cerretani's Supermarket then moved across the street to City Hall where she worked in the Assessors office where she retired from. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, and her famous quote, "I can knit but I love to crochet", traveling, attending lunches with her "lunch bunch" friends, and on sunny days you would find her attending to her garden.
Margaret is survived by her children Patrice Ambrogne, Denise Ambrogne, Margaret Mary Culpon.
Affectionately known as "Nonna" Margaret was a cherished grandmother to Jonathan, Luke, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Jessica, Allison, and Danielle. Her legacy continues through her great grandchildren Gianna, Jenniah, Owen, Avery, Henry, Amelia, Juliette, Elijah, and Anthony who each brought her joy.
For the past 11 years Margaret fought a courageous battle against dementia/Alzheimer's disease with the care and support from her two children Patrice and Denise. Margaret was the worst nightmare to such a disease as her stubbornness and will to fight kept her surviving well past the time any DR. or medical professional could have predicted. Dementia/Alzheimer's had her for the 11 years but we got all the stubbornness, joy and love Margaret had for a blessed 87 years of life.
