Margaret M. "Peg" (Lambert) Dwyer passed away at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on August 3, 2014. She was 91 years of age. Peg was born and raised in Roxbury and graduated from high school in Roxbury. She worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance and at Huntress Insurance Agency in Melrose before becoming a secretary for the Melrose School System. Mrs. Dwyer worked for 20 years in the Melrose School at the Hoover School and then for Central Administration. She was a founding member and longtime member of Incarnation Church in Melrose where she met many of her wonderful friends. Peg has been a resident of Melrose for over 60 years, was a member of the Catholic Women's Club and the Melrose Women's Club and was a very generous person. Mrs. Dwyer was an excellent cook, enjoyed taking trips to Cape Cod, wintering in Florida with her late husband Jack and traveling to Maine. Peg was the beloved wife of the late John J. "Jack" Dwyer (Retired Melrose Police Officer). Loving mother of Nancy Scharn of Wakefield and Marianne Dwyer of Melrose. Sister of the late John T. Lambert. Sister-in-law of Gertrude Giovanetti of Plymouth. Grandmother of Heather Conner & her husband Robert and Coleen Scharn & her husband Greg Lopez all of TX. Great grandmother of Mathew & Michael Conner of TX. Cousin of Father Kevin A. Lynch, CSP of NY. Aunt of Beth Dorman, Ann Daley & Robert Giovanetti all of Plymouth. Dear friend of Ellen Bettencourt, Renee Lawless, Margaret Berkland, Sue Lamm as well as the Pearson & Lally Families. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Saturday, August 9th at 9:00AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
