Margaret M. Hartigan, of Peabody, formerly of Melrose, died at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Peabody on Saturday July 24th at the age of 75. Margaret was born & raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She was a resident of Melrose for 29 years and a member of St. Marys Church. Margaret worked as a Rate Clerk for Wooster Express in Medford for 15 years and Port Terminals in S. Boston for 4 years before moving to Florida in 1989 for her retirement. She was the devoted wife of the late Paul H. Hartigan. Loving mother of Brian Hartigan, Richard C. Hartigan & his wife Kerrie of Peabody, Robert J. Hartigan & his wife Kathleen of ME, Bruce H. Hartigan & his wife Anne of Melrose, Mary M. Signor & her husband Doug of NH and the late Susan Fahlbech. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Tuesday July 27th at 8AM. Funeral mass at St. Marys Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Monday July 26th from 4-8PM. Burial will be private.
