Margaret S. "Peggy" (Deady) Looney, of Malden, died on May 7, 2016 surrounded by her family. Peggy was born in Medford, MA on February 12, 1943 to Walter and Anna (Gilmartin) Deady. She was born and raised in Medford and attended Medford schools. Peggy raised her five children in Malden and was always there for her children. She loved to go shopping and spend time with her family. Peggy lived in Lady Lake, FL for 18 years. She was very active during her time in Florida and also played in a softball league. Peggy will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. She was the wife of the late Edward Looney. Devoted mother of Thomas Looney & his wife Sandra of Medford, Kerri Perry & her husband Mark of Malden, Donna Looney & her companion Richard Doherty of Malden, Erin Smigliani & her husband Alex of Malden, and the late Joseph Looney. Loving grandmother of Vanessa, John, Laureen, Nicole, Christine, Thomas Jr., Devin, Joseph Jr., Dennis, Joelle, Matthew, Domenic, and the late Michelle. Proud great grandmother of Cali, Mackenzie, Angelina, Justin, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Samantha, Anthony, Benjamin, and the late Jace. Visiting Hours will be held on Wed., May 11, 2016 from 4-8 PM at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose, MA. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Thurs., May 12, 2016 at 9 AM, followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 315 Main St., Malden. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend.
