Margaret "Peggy" Winslow passed away peacefully, Friday June 6th, at home with her family by her side.
Peggy was born September 16, 1928 and lived in Melrose all her life with her late husband Paul Winslow raising seven children. She is survived by her sister Theresa Magown of Melrose, Ma. and brothers Robert McCormack of Lynnfield, Ma., and Leonard McCormack of Boxford, Ma. Her children Mary Jordan of Hyannis, Ma., Janice Leary and her husband Robert of South Dennis, Ma, Paula Halas and her husband Robert of Billerica Ma, , Robert Winslow and his wife Barbara of Hyannis Ma, Philip Winslow and his wife Judith of Colorado Springs, Co., Greg Winslow and his wife Suzanne of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, and Virginia Hooper and her husband Thomas of Hyannis, Ma. Peggy also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and many friends.
Peggy was a devout member of St Mary's Church; she was a member of the rosary club for many years (always having a pair of rosary beads by her side), a member of the Ladies Sodality and a Eucharistic Minister. Having such a large family, Peggy loved to spend time with them, going on outings to Plum Island , Kingston State Park. Her kitchen was always a gathering place for friends and family. Peggy will be missed and remembered by many, whether it be her laughter, her smile or her ability to make anything into a song..
Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 w. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, June 13th at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
