Marian A. Chase, 82, died at East Pointe Nursing Care Center, Chelsea, after a lengthy illness. Born in E. Boston, she was a life long resident of Winthrop, graduated from Winthrop High Class of 1937, attended Regis College and other business schoolsin the Boston area. Marian was a world traveler, having lived in Tokyo Japan and other areas of the world. Marian was a secretary in the Boston School System's Main Office from 1953 to 1960 and at the Edward's Junior High in Chelsea from 1960 until she retired in 1985. Marian was the wife of the late Capt. Lester T. Chase, USMC. Daughter of the late William & Alice ( Grady ) Mulcahy. Sister of Barbara Witham of Parker, AZ and the late William L. Mulcahy. Also survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts. Melrose, on Monday Jan 20 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. There are no visitng hours. Burial was held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Arrangements by the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W Foster St, Melrose. Visitation: None None
