Marie O.(Bowen) Andrews, of Melrose, formerly of Stoneham & Gloucester, died at the Winchester Hospital on June 14th. She was born & raised in Gloucester & lived most of her life in Stoneham and the last 5 years in Melrose. Marie graduated from Gloucester High School in 1947 & was a graduate of Shepard Gill Practical Nursing School in Boston. She worked as an LPN at the Boston Regional Medical Center in Stoneham for 33 years & was a member of the First Congregational Church of Stoneham and the Amica Group for many years. Marie was the beloved wife of the late John E. Andrews. Loving mother of Linda C. Russell & her husband Wayne of Gloucester, John C. Andrews of Manchester, NH, Julie M. Nelson & her husband David of Peterborough, NH and Laurie Andrews-Comer of Billerica. Sister of Eleanor Gianakis of Fl, Ruth Tullercash of Ipswich, and the late Dorothy Blair & Marjorie McLellan. Cherished grandmother of 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Also survived by 5 loving sister in-laws, many family members & numerous friends. A funeral service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Stoneham, 1 Church St., on Thursday June 19th at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8PM at the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose.
