Marie B. (Thompson) Feeley passed away at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham on February 18, 2019. She was 90 years of age. Marie was born in Medford on July 30, 1928 to the late William & Gertrude (McGonagle) Thompson. She was raised in Medford, graduated from Medford High School and was a lifelong resident of Medford. Marie was a dedicated homemaker and had also worked for many years as a receptionist for doctors at Medford Associates and at Malden Internist. Mrs. Feeley was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church in Medford, a member of the Mother's Club and helped start "Hot Dog Day" at St. Joseph School in Medford. She enjoyed doing puzzles and crossword puzzles, was an avid reader, and enjoyed reading Reader's Digest and the newspaper everyday front to back. Marie also enjoyed renting a cottage on Lake Winnipesaukee during the summer every year. But above all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marie was the beloved wife of the late James T. Feeley Jr. Loving mother of Michael J. Feeley & his wife Janet of Malden, Kimberly A. Flynn & her husband John of Melrose, James T. Feeley III & his wife Betsy and Carol G. Feeley all of Medford. Cherished grandmother of Kelly, Michael, Shawn, Jack & his wife Maria, and Erik. Proud great grandmother of John & Mia. Loving sister of William Thomson & his wife Joyce, and the late Carol Grabowski & her husband, the late Walter. Also survived by 6 nephews and a late niece. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 8:30-10:00 AM. Followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM. Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Marie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Lane, Memphis, TN 38105.
