Marie Y. (Pelaggi) Gattozzi passed away on August 1, 2006, she was 88. Marie was born and raised in Dobbs Ferry, NY, lived in Everett for several years and Melrose since 1949. Mrs. Gattozzi worked as a stitcher for over 20 years, working during WWII stitching parachutes and then for Bunny Bear Company in Boston & Everett. Marie was an avid knitter; she enjoyed cooking and was a member of the Saugus DAV Ladies Auxiliary. Marie was the wife of the late Michael P. Gattozzi. Mother of Paul V. Gattozzi & his wife Laureene of Saugus. Sister of Josephine Amoroso of Melrose & Marion Carello of Italy. Grandmother of Michael Gattozzi & his girlfriend Maria Olaes of Saugus and Alicia Murphy & her husband Scott of Melrose. Great grandmother of Shane Murphy. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Friday Aug. 4th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs. 5-8PM.
