Marie Ellen (Penley) Santosuosso passed away in Saugus on August 26, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was only 46 years of age. Marie was born in Malden, raised in Melrose & Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School, Class of 1987. Mrs. Santosuosso was a Saugus resident for many years before moving to Amesbury in 2006. Marie was very caring to the elderly as shown thru her employment as the admissions director at Winchester Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for the past 15 years. She would travel anywhere, was a people person and cherished the times spent with her family. Marie was the best friend and loving wife of 27 years to Dean C. Santosuosso. Devoted mother of Sean A. Santosuosso of NH. Cherished daughter of Norman & Marlene (Greenlay) Penley of Saugus. Caring sister of Brian R. Penley & his wife Kathy of NH and William N. Penley & his wife Brandy of North Reading and sister-in-law of Joseph Santosuosso of Saugus. Loving grandmother of Autumn N. Santosuosso. Caring aunt of Matthew & Samantha Penley & Dante Santosuosso. Also survived by her loving 4 legged fury companion Cleo. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Thursday, August 28th from 4:00-8:00PM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. A funeral service will be held at the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ, 300 Central St. Saugus on Friday at 10AM.
