Marilyn P. (Carey), 74, died at Mass General Hospital Thursday after a brief illness. Born andraised in Somerville, she graduated from Mt. St. Joseph Academy in Brighton, Class of 1946, and Regis College in 1950. Marilyn was a social worker for the City of Somerville during the 1950's and was a ward secretary at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford for over 20 yrs during the 1960's & 70's. She was a member of the Regis College Alumni Association and the Church of the Incarnation. Marilyn was a Melrose resident for most of her life . Marilyn was the wife of William W. Carey. Mother of Leslie C. Curry of Malden, Robert J. Curry of Saugus, William A. Curry & his wife Susan of Newburyport and Patricia A. Kelliher & her husband Robert of Dracut. Grandmother of Alexandra R., Grace C. & Claudia L. Curry and Matthew & Emily Kelliher. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St, Melrose on Monday June 9 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in the Church of the Incarnation, 429 Upham St, Melrose at 10 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sun 2 until 5 PM. Burial will be in Mt Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
