Marilyn M. (Callahan) McCormack of Melrose passed away at home on May 25, 2014 surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born and raised in Melrose. She was a graduate of Melrose High School, and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Parish. She worked as a legal secretary for over 20 years at Sullivan, Limone, Clark & Waystack Law Firm in Melrose. Marilyn loved the Patriots, the Red Sox, reading, puzzles and her yearly vacations to the Outer banks North Carolina. But her first joy was her family. She loved her weekly Sunday and Monday night dinners, and loved her annual Thanksgiving Day Feasts. Nothing gave her more pleasure than seeing one of her kids, grandkids or great grandkids stop by for a visit. Mrs. McCormack was the beloved wife of the late James R. McCormack Sr. Loving mother of Roseanne McCormack of Melrose, James Jr. of Melrose, Daniel & his wife Janice of Saugus, Kevin & his wife Kimberly of Williamsburg, VA, John & his wife Lynne of Saugus, Christopher & his wife Lisa of Melrose, Stephen & his wife Lori of Lynnfield and the late Robert McCormack. Sister of the late John Callahan, Lucille Wasilewski & Gerald Callahan. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews and was predeceased by her grandson Robbie. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday, May 30th at 9AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, 55 Herbert St. Melrose, at 10AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.
