Obituary

Marion E. (Cregg) Mannion passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday March 29th, she was 95. Marion was born and raised in Lawrence, graduated from Lawrence High School and St. Elizabeth College in NJ with a degree in Latin. Prior to becoming a homemaker, Marion worked for Congressman George Bates in Washington DC as his assistant and then as a Latin teacher at Lawrence High School for several years. She has been a resident of Melrose the past 64 years and a longtime parishioner at St. Mary's Church in Melrose. Beloved wife of the late John S. Mannion. Loving mother of John Cregg Mannion of Melrose and Judith M. Francesconi of Chelmsford. Grandmother of Alexander J. Francesconi of Bedford, Cara M. Childs of Maine & Suzanne J. Francesconi of Wakefield. Great grandmother of Michaela, George, Alexa & Dylan. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Friday April 2nd at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4-8PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.Memorial contributions may be made to the Kid Fund @ Franciscan Hospital for Children 30 Warren St.Brighton, MA 02135
