Marion T. Whalley, affectionately known as Mim and Gram, passed away on April 2, 2024 at the age of 90 in Melrose. Born to Marion and Charles Harrison on July 20, 1933, in Danvers, MA, she was the matriarch of an ever-growing family who loved her dearly.

A graduate of Essex Agricultural School of Nursing she dedicated her life to caring for those who were ill at Beverly Hospital, The Visiting Nurses Association and for over 25 years as Director of Nursing for Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers MA.

Predeceased by her husband John J. Whalley Sr, and her son Timothy Whalley, Gram's memory will be kept alive by her children Marion and Mike Scocca of Melrose, John and Maryann Whalley of Wareham and Bradenton, Florida and Patrick Whalley of Palm Springs, California. She was graced with incredibly loving grandchildren and great grandchildren including Andrew Scocca, Maria and Pete Kazlas with Natalie and Lorelei, Matt and Danielle Scocca with Sofia and Gabby, Tara and Mike Ricciardelli with Nick and Josh, Kate and Andrew Cullen with Drew and Ellie, Danyelle and Shayne Finch with Oliva and Samantha and Tim and Kate Whalley. Mim was one of seven children. Predeceased by her sisters Carol and Joan and her brother Chuck, she was loved by her sister Barbara Correggio and brothers Jeffery and Philip Harrison along with many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:00AM, followed by a funeral home service at 11:00AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Danvers.
