Mark A. Phillips passed away at Kindred Hospital in Peabody, after a battle with cancer, on Feb. 3, 2006. He was 46. Mark was born in Everett, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1978 and the Berkley School of Music. He was a resident of Wakefield for the past 20 years. Music was Marks passion; he was an accomplished guitarist and was a self-employed musician. Mr. Phillips served in the Army National Guard in Melrose for several years. Mark was the son of James G. & Sandra (Moriarty) Phillips. Brother of James G. Phillips Jr. & his wife Beth of Winthrop and David S. Phillips of MO. Uncle of James G. Phillips III & David S. Phillips Jr. Also survived by several aunts, uncles & cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday, Feb. 7th, at 12Noon. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral on Tues. morning from 10:00AM-12Noon. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
