Martha S. O'Neil, 84, died at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Tuesday after a brief illness. She was born in Boston, raised in Melrose, graduated from Melrose High Class of 1937. Martha was a housewife and homemaker and the wife of the late Gerard J. O'Neil. Mother of Gerard W. O'Neil & his wife Mary of Melrose. Paul C. O'Neil of Malden, Martha A. O'Neil and Janice W. O'Neil of Melrose. Grandmother of Timothy J. O'Neil, Paula J. VanDurne, and Erin, Alicia and Shaun Upham. Great grandmother of Brittany, Jaeda and Jackson VanDurne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79W Foster , Melrose, on Fri Aug 24 at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Thurs 4 - 8 PM. Burial will be in Wyoming, Cemetery, Melrose.
