Mary Louise (Cefalo) Ambrogne passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was 94 years of age. Mary was born in Melrose on December 8, 1918 to the late Joseph & Anna (Milano) Cefalo. Mary was raised in Melrose, graduated from St. Mary's Grammar, Melrose High School, Class of 1936 and was a member of the first graduating class at the "New Melrose High". Mrs. Ambrogne was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed summering in Cotuit for over 36 years and lived in Orlando for 20 years. She also worked as a floral designer at her father's floral shop, Cefalo Florist in Melrose. Mary Louise was a founding member of the Church of the Incarnation of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Melrose and a former member of Bellevue Golf Club. Mrs. Ambrogne was the wife of the late John R. Ambrogne. Loving mother of Fred Ambrogne of Woburn, Ellen Galvin of Winchester, Jill McNamara of Medford and the late April Careaga. Sister of Gloria Mac Donald of Melrose and the late Joseph Cefalo. Grandmother of John Ambrogne, Malcolm Galvin III & Adam Galvin. Great grandmother of Laurel & Leland Galvin, Kelsey Galvin & Malcolm Galvin IV. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wednesday morning April 10th from 8:30-9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial to follow at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
