Mary Rose (McCormack) Barrett passed away at the Prescott House Nursing Home, in N. Andover, on February 26, 2008. She was 92 years of age. Mary Rose was born in Boston, raised in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School. She lived in Medford for a few years, NJ for 11 years and Melrose for over 45 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who cherished spending time with her family. Rose enjoyed knitting, swimming, and was an avid golfer. Mrs. Barrett enjoyed traveling & golfing with her late husband Charles and was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church. Rose was the wife of the late Charles R. Barrett. Mother of Bob & his wife Marie, Pat Stibich & her husband Bob, Jim & his wife Betty all of NJ, Barbara Botto & her husband Tom, Paul & his wife Liz all of NH, Dick & his wife Pat of N. Reading, Bill & his companion Kathleen of N. Andover, David & his companion Rose of Wilmington and Judy Haberman & her husband Doug of Tewksbury. She was the last of 9 siblings. Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Fri. Feb 29th at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8PM. Interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
