Mary M. (Moran) Bresnahan of Melrose, formerly of Dorchester & Jamaica Plain died February 16, 2013 at the EPOCH Senior Healthcare Center of Melrose. She was 86 years old. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 31, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Ellen (Heston) Moran. She was raised in the Mission Hill section of Roxbury and a 1943 graduate of Mission Hill High School. Mrs. Bresnahan worked in Sales & Files with the American Mutual Insurance Company and worked her way up to a Claims Adjuster and finally supervisor. She worked a total of 30 years with American Mutual. Mary was a resident of Dorchester from 1973 to 1993 and then lived in Melrose. She was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church of Wakefield and the Ladies Sodality since 1996 and a former member of the Irish Social Club of West Roxbury. Mary enjoyed traveling, Foxwoods, Poker & Bingo. She was the devoted wife of the late Timothy C. Bresnahan with whom they shared 39 years of marriage. Loving mother of Christine Skaubitis & her husband George of Littleton, Stephen J. Bresnahan & his wife Denise of Wilmington & Robert E. Bresnahan & his wife Karen of Charlton. Cherished grandmother of Caitlin G. & Ashlee C. Bresnahan & Shannon L. & Christopher E. Bresnahan. Caring sister of Richard M. Moran & his late wife Joan of Sandwich & the late Helen Margaret Costabile & her late husband Frank of Hudson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, February 22nd at 9AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8PM.
