Mary Theresa Burns passed away at Wilmington Health Care Center in Wilmington, on August 25th , at the age of 78. Mary was born in Boston, raised in Everett, Malden & Melrose and graduated from St. Marys High School in Melrose as the valedictorian. Mary lived in Melrose for many years, was a member of St. Marys Church and has a resident in Wilmington for the past 15 years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph H. & Lorraine M. (Daoust) Burns. Sister of Joseph Buddy Burns of NH, Madeline Tarr of S.Yarmouth, John F. Jack Burns of N. Reading, David Burns of Lowell and the late Rita Dunn & William Burns. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Monday Aug. 30th at 10:30AM. Funeral Mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 7-9PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
