Obituary

Mary A. (Antonucci) D'Amato passed away on June 3, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 91.

Mary grew up in Watertown, daughter of the Late Raffaele and Violetta (Moreschi) Antonucci and the youngest of eleven children. She met her late husband Jerry at the famous Revere Beach, were married in 1952, and together they raised seven children.

Mary devoted her life to her family, giving her all to ensure they always felt loved. Proud Grammy of twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren, Mary spent countless hours preparing for family gatherings and big parties at her home. Ensuring there was plenty of food and activities for all, she would plan weeks in advance, making Italian dishes, pinatas filled with goodies for the kids, and organizing fun activities for all to enjoy. Mary enjoyed music, dancing, winters in Florida, golfing, playing cards, casino trips, knitting, crocheting, and crafting. She crafted many a creation for the family like happy butterflies, dog house family plaques, and beautiful afghan blankets. Her memory and spirit will live on in the hearts of many and her beautiful legacy continues within family and friends.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Gerardo (Jerry) D'Amato. Loving mother of Richard D'Amato and his wife Michelle of Peabody, Dorothy Griffen and her partner Matt of Melrose, Brian D'Amato and his partner Sally of Revere, Vincent D'Amato and his wife Cindy of Peabody, Lawrence D'Amato and his wife Marilyn of Saugus, Cheryl Santosuosso and her husband Steve of Melrose, Rhonda Annese and her husband Robert of Peabody. She was predeceased by her siblings Lena Miceli, Julia Vergato, Ann and Fritzy Frissore, Fred and Ida Antonucci, Anthony Antonucci, Regina and James O'Reilly, Silvio and Charlotte Antonucci, Dorothy and Robert Malmberg, Paul and Rose Antonucci, Peter and Esther Antonucci. Mary leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sister-in-law Joanne Nardelli, and also countless nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake Street, Peabody at 12:15 PM. Family & Friend's respectfully invited to attend.
