Mary Desmiond, 91, died at Hammersmith House, Saugus, after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Boston, Mary was a bookkeeper at the Registry of Motor Vehicles in Boston many years and retired in 1982. She was a resident of Melrose for 50 years and a parishioner at St Mary's Church. Mary was the wife of the late William J. Desmond. Mother of William J Desmond & his companion Mary Larrow of Quincy. Sister of the late Ann Campbell and the late Rick Conte. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W Foster St Melrose on Wed Oct 1st at 8AM. Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, corner of Myrtle & Herbert Sts, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8PM. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
