Mary "Pat" (Kelly) Galluzzo passed away surrounded by her loving family in Melrose on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. Pat was 87.

Pat was predeceased by her husband John L. Galluzzo. Mother of John R. Galluzzo and his wife Susan from Melrose, Lisa Galluzzo-Crouse and her husband Kevin from Waltham, Michael Galluzzo from Melrose, and proud grandmother of Johnny Galluzzo. Pat was the daughter of the late Alfred and Madeline (O’Rourke) Kelly, sister of the late Robert Kelly, sister-in-law to Margaret Kelly, aunt to Nancy Ann Murray, Karen Noe, and Kevin Kelly and the late Christine Vassallo. She is also survived by many loving cousins, and close friends.

Pat was born in Boston, raised in Mission Hill where she later moved to Melrose for over 60 years. She worked for Town Taxi in Boston where she met her husband, John. She worked at Intercity Homemakers, BB&N in Cambridge, Builders Kitchen where she worked for Barry Kaye, a close family friend, and Genuity-GTE Internetworking Inc. Pat was the Lead Telecommunications Operator/Acting Supervisor at Genuity, where she was honored for assisting an employee’s mother, while talking to her on the phone as she was having a heart attack. Pat took charge and called 911 while keeping the woman calm until emergency services arrived at her home.

Pat loved going to the Moose Club in Chelsea with friends, eating at the Kowloon, going to Atlantic City to play the slots, vacationing in Plum Island, North Conway and staying at the Indian Head Resort in Lincoln, NH. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, and watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She was overjoyed to be a grandmother to her grandson Johnny.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 4:00pm-7:00pm, followed by a funeral service on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in the funeral home at 11:00am. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose.
