Mary C. (Forrey) Hardy passed away at Holy Cross Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on May 17th , she was 80 years old. Mary was born and raised in East Boston, moved to Melrose in the 1950s and lived in Melrose for over 40 years. Mrs. Hardy was a homemaker, she worked as a policewoman in Melrose and at Lollipop Lane Day Care on Main St. Melrose for several years. Mary has been a resident of Florida for the past 15 years. Mrs. Hardy was the wife of the late Willis E. Hardy. Mother of Willis E. Hardy Jr. & his wife Patty of Melrose, Charles E. Hardy of FL and George J. Hardy & his wife Linda of NJ. Grandmother of Thomas Hardy, James Hardy, Pam Bukowski, Stacey Gamble, Bridget Hardy & Willis E. Hardy III. Also survived by 10 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Monday May 23rd at 8AM. Funeral mass in St. Marys Church, Herbert St. Melrose, at 9AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose
