Mary Josephine (Dillon) Jones passed away at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on January 22, 2006, she was 92. Mary was born in South Boston, raised in Somerville, graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1931 and lived most of her life in Somerville. Mrs. Jones lived in West Haven CT for 10 years, Billerica for 12 years and the past 16 years in Melrose. Mary was a homemaker, a former member of the Ladies Guild at St. Lewis Church in West Haven CT, a present member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield and a member of the McCarthy House Tenants Association. She was the daughter of the late Thomas & Maude (Sweeney) Dillon. Wife of the late Arnold R. Jones. Mother of Maureen C. Jones & her husband Clinton of Fredericksburg, VA & the late Rita Spurr. Sister of Eileen Dillon, Frances Coughlin, Grace Feeney all of Malden, Thomas Dillon of Melrose, Claire Fitzgerald of Somerville and the late Raymond Dillon, Patricia ONeill & Dorothy Coleman. Grandmother of Oliver Jones of NY and Marlena Spurr of Wilmington. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. Jan. 25th at 11AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 12noon. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 2-4 & 6-8PM. Burial in Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
