Mary F. (Kelly) Kearney, of Stoneham, formerly of Melrose, died at the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH on Sept. 28, 2008 at the age of 81. Mary was born & raised in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1944 and continued her education after high school at Kathleen Dell Business School in Boston. Mary worked as a Medical Secretary for the Massachusetts General Hospital for many years. She resided in Stoneham and was a member of St. Patrick's Church for the last 47 years. Mary enjoyed reading, playing bridge and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Kearney for 49 years. Loving mother of Jane M. DeRosa & her husband Lewis of E. Hampstead, NH, Martha T. Thayer & her husband Brian of Litchfield, NH, Michael R. Kearney & his wife Lisa of Franklin and Brian T. Kearney & his wife Patricia of Glastonbury, CT. Caring sister of Carol Scully & her late husband Michael of Melrose, John H. Kelly Jr. & his wife Lucille of CT and the late Robert Kelly. Sister in law of Louise Connolly of Scituate and Edith Doucette of Melrose. Cherished grandmother of Kathleen, Joseph, Laura, Elizabeth, Brendan, Mikayla, Matthew, Caroline and Andrew. Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday Oct. 1st at 7:45AM. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9AM. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited. Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
