Mary C. (Toomey) Kennedy of Lynnfield, died on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at The Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital of Boston. She was 87 years old. Born on October 27, 1920 in Revere to the late James J. Toomey & Margaret G. (Duggan) Toomey, she was raised in Chelsea and graduated from St. Rose School, class of 1938. She lived in Chelsea until 1974 until she moved to Lynnfield and was a resident there for 34 years. Mary was a daily communicant and very active with Our Lady of the Assumption Church of Lynnfield. She also enjoyed reading and traveling. Mrs. Kennedy worked as a secretary with Boston Mutual Insurance for 12 years and after her family was grown, she went to work for the Veterans Administration of Boston in the outpatient department. She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Kennedy, loving mother of Maureen A. Puddister & her husband William of Melrose, John J. Kennedy & his wife Sandy of El Cajon, CA & James M. Kennedy of Lynnfield. Cherished grandmother of Meghan Jenkins & her husband Matthew of Northboro, Brad & Marianne Puddister, both of South Boston, John III & Ryan Kennedy, both of El Cajon, CA & Kristin Kennedy of Reading. Doting great grandmother of Tyler & Savanna Kennedy. Caring sister of Anna G. Toomey of Lynnfield. Also survived by several cousins. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Wed. Jan. 2nd at 9AM. Funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 758 Salem St., Lynnfield at 10AM. Family & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM. Interment in Willow Cemetery, Lynnfield.
