Mary T. (Aldus) Laskey, of Melrose, died on Feb. 8, 2016 at the age of 83. Mary was born in Boston, raised in East Boston and a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1949. She resided in East Boston until 1952 and Melrose for the past 60 years. Mary was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose and volunteered at St. Mary's rectory & Mystic Valley Elder Services for many years. She summered in Gilford Beach on Lake Winnipesaukee for over 30 years and enjoyed spending her time with her family and many friends. Mary sold Tupperware for 12 years and also worked for the Wakefield Item newspaper for 8 years. Mary loved to play cards, bingo and spend time at Foxwoods & Twin Rivers Casino. Mary was the beloved wife of 62 years to the late Edward F. Laskey. Loving mother of Edward G. Laskey & his wife Elaina of Beverly, Kathleen Baldassari & her husband Thomas of Peabody and Timothy P. Laskey of N. Grafton. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Erin & the late Michael Hardy and Gregory & Bryan Laskey. Caring sister of the late Francis Aldus, Robert Aldus, Margaret Svendsen and George Aldus. Also survived by 3 nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, Feb. 12th from 4-7PM. Funeral from the funeral home on Saturday at 8AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church, Herbert St., Melrose at 9AM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend.
