Mary Margaret (Brennan) Lawlor passed away at her home in Melrose on Sunday, May 10, 2015. She was 83 years of age. Mary was born in Somerville on May 6, 1932 to the late Thomas & Kathryn (Thistle) Brennan. She was raised in Somerville, attended Somerville schools and lived in Somerville most of her life until moving to Melrose 10 years ago. Mrs. Lawlor was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many, she will be dearly missed. Mary was a longtime member of St. Polycarps Church in Somerville and a current member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose. Mrs. Lawlor enjoyed her trips to Ireland and Aruba but always loved coming home. She cherished the times spent at home with her family. Mary was the beloved wife of Richard M. Lawlor. Loving mother of Michael R. Lawlor & his wife Mary of N. Reading, James P. Lawlor of Charlestown and Mary C. Craig & her husband Richard of Milton. Devoted sister of Catherine Tighe of Arlington and the late Billy, Jim & John Brennan. Cherished grandmother of James, Megan, Elizabeth & Charlie. Proud great grandmother of Vinny. Also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St. Melrose, on Tuesday May 12th from 4:00-8:00PM. Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, on Wednesday morning May 13th at 10AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, Herbert St. Melrose at 11:00AM.
