Mary B. "Mabel" MacEachern passed away at the Greenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Wakefield on Sunday June 24, 2012. She was 90 years of age. Mabel was born in Nova Scotia on October 21,1921 to the late Angus & Mary (MacDonald) MacEachern. She was raised in Nova Scotia, lived in Melrose for 35 years and the past 16 years in Wakefield. Mabel was a homemaker and had also worked as a nurses aid. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Melrose. Mrs. MacEachern was the loving sister of Jessie Gillis of Canada, Mary Blouin of Westwood and the late Anna Sullivan, Katherine MacEachern and Hugh MacEachern. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Wednesday June 27th at 11AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service for 10:00-11:00AM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
