Obituary

M. Evelyn (Duff) MacMonagle passed away at Woodbriar of Wilmington, on Dec. 23rd, she was 91. Mrs. MacMonagle was born in Melrose, raised in Stoneham and graduated from Stoneham High School. Evelyn worked as a costume maker for the Boston Ballet Company for over 20 years. She was a resident of Melrose for 60 years, past president of the Ladies Auxillary at the VFW Harold O Young Post # 2394 in Melrose and a longtime member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Wakefield. Evelyn was the wife of the late John H. MacMonagle. Mother of John H. MacMonagle Jr. of Melrose, Marilyn A. Carter & her husband Ken of Reading and Jo-Ann Duncan & her husband Bill of Ipswich. Sister of Ethel Emanuel of Stoneham, John Duff Jr. of FL, Phyllis MacDonald of NH, Thomas Duff of Melrose and the late Charles & Marjorie Duff. Grandmother of Daniel J. & Jeffrey S. MacMonagle, Kelli M. Benoit & her husband Jeffrey, K.C. & Kristen M. Carter and Riley B. Duncan. Great grandmother of Ryan J. Benoit. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed. Dec. 29th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield, at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4:00-7:00PM. Burial in Wyoming Cemetery Melrose. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Parkinsons Disease Assoc., 720 Harrison Ave. Boston.
